Selecting a wireless carrier for your BlindShell Classic 2

The BlindShell Classic 2, a phone designed to enhance accessibility for visually impaired users, is compatible with various wireless carriers across the United States, offering flexibility and connectivity options. Among these carriers, AT&T, Consumer Cellular, Mint Mobile, Metro, Tello, T-Mobile, Tracfone, and Verizon stand out as reliable networks that support the functionalities of the BlindShell Classic 2. With their expansive coverage and diverse plans, users can seamlessly integrate the device into their preferred carrier's network, ensuring accessibility features like voice commands, screen readers, and tactile keypad navigation are fully supported. Additional instructions for AT&T, Consumer Cellular, and Verizon

AT&T

When obtaining service with AT&T, you will need to adjust the APN settings on yoru BlindShell Classic 2. You can only adjust the APN seetings once you have your AT&T Micro SIM card inserted into the BlindShell Classic.

1. Go to settings, then to Networks, then go to Mobile Data.

2. Check mobile data. Make sure it is on. Then go to APN settings.

3. Go to Add APN. Hit the enter button,

Name: NXTGENPHONE

APN: NXTGENPHONE  

Skip past 3, 4, 5, 6,.

Go to 7 and type: default,mms,supl,fota,xcap and then press OK

Go down to 8, type: GID

Skip 9 and go to 10. Type IPv4

Go to 11, Type IPv4

Go to 12 Save APN.

Consumer Cellular

When obtaining service with Consumer Cellular, you will need to adjust the APN settings on yoru BlindShell Classic 2. You can only adjust the APN seetings once you have your Consumer Cellular Micro SIM card inserted into the BlindShell Classic.

1. Go to settings, then to Networks, then go to Mobile Data.

2. Check mobile data. Make sure it is on. Then go to APN settings.

3. Go to Add APN. Hit the enter button,

Name: ereseller

APN: ereseller

Press OK

Skip past 3, 4, 5, 6,.  

Go to 7 and type: default,mms,sple and then press OK

Go down to 8, type or select: GID

Go down past 9 and to 10. Type or select IPv4  

Go to 11, Type or select IPv4

Go to 12 and press OK on Save apn

Verizon

When Verizon enters a BlindShell Classic 2 IMEI number, the system will indicate that the BlindShell Classic 2 is not a compatible device on the Verizon network. Today, we have many BlindShell Classic 2 users who are successfully enjoying wireless service with Verizon. You can either take an existing Verizon SIM card from another device and simply insert it into the BlindShell Classic 2 or have a local Verizon employee create a default device SIM card that can be used with the BlindShell Classic 2.
